I believe in building things that last. Furniture should have permanence and have a life that is not easy to dismiss unlike current mass produced objects from across the globe. I enjoy working with local woods, such as redwood and oak. I also like to know where my materials come from.

I am interested in working with salvaged wood and other sustainable resources. I enjoy displaying the age and history of the material I am working with by utilizing reclaimed lumber because each piece has it's own unique story to tell. My work is conceptual in the sense that I chose to display stresses and age of material. I design with the intent of the piece to remain functional because while everything has a purpose, I believe that it should also be visually and intellectually stimulating. My major influences come from the ocean, the wood I work with, and the variety of experiences that I have had in the outdoors.
